First Friday at Railroad Square

potterWith over fifty artist studios, galleries and shops scattered it’s funky tin roofed warehouses, Railroad Square is a happening place.  The first Friday of each month, the studios, galleries and shops have an open house from 6 to 9 PM.  Expect to see interesting art, eat good food, and be entertained by music and other performances.

This Friday’s event will include a special performance by the Emperor of Gumbo, Tallahassee’s own Bill Wharton.  Along with the concert, there will be a silent auction to benefit Bill’s foundation, Planet Gumbo.  Over $5000 worth of auction items have been donated to help fund the work done by the organization.

Railroad Square is located on Railroad Ave. just south of the railroad tracks.  A good place to park your smog spewing car is the dirt lot across from the All Saints Cafe. (Map of Railroad Square.)
