Police Blotter – Jan. 24th, 2009
- AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM, 1041 Cherokee Drive, @ 4pm.Â Suspect invited her former roommate (victim) and victimâ€™s new roommate over to assist with the burial of her dog.Â While at the suspectâ€™s home they began consuming alcohol (Vodka).Â The suspect became angry and advised the new roommate that her old roommate better treat her better.Â An argument began and the suspect retrieved a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver indicating she was going to kill the victim.Â The suspect fired at least one shot at the victim.Â The victim swatted the firearm away, fled with the new roommate in a vehicle and called police.
Officers responded to the suspectâ€™s home and she admitted to shooting the firearm and drinking.Â Officers discovered a bullet hole in the interior wall of the home (where victim claimed the violence occurred).Â The firearm was located with one spent round.Â The suspect was arrested and taken to jail.
Stanya E. Wirt, W/F, 53 yoa.Â Charges:Â Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Use of a Firearm while Under the Influence of Alcohol.
VICTIM:Â 24 year old, Hispanic male.
- DUI HIT AND RUN, 1111 High Road (On High Apartments), @ 12:30am.Â Officers responded to a reported hit and run.Â A 2006 Nissan pickup left the roadway, ran over a crape myrtle tree, hit a parked vehicle (1995 blue Honda Accord) and crashed into the apartment building.Â The suspect, later identified as 23 year old, white male, Renaine Julian was located by officers as he ran west along Continental Ave.Â Witnesses to the crash positively identified Julian as the driver of the vehicle that crashed.Â Additionally, glass was found embedded in Julianâ€™s head that was consistent with the vehicle crash.Â Officer Calvin Bedenbaugh observed that Julian swayed while standing, had a noticeable odor of an alcoholic beverage as he spoke and his speech was slurred as if he had a mouth full of marbles.Â Julian was arrested.Â The estimated damage of the crash is approximately $13,000
Renaine Julian, W/M, 23 yoa.Â Charges:Â Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage, DUI (2nd offense), and DUI with Property Damage.
- GRAND THEFT AUTO, DRUG VIOLATION, 3433 Crawfordville Hwy (Shell Gas Station), @11:30pm).Â Officer Jerome Megna observed a stolen 1992 tan 4 door Saturn in the parking lot.Â Officers observed suspects Keen and Lindsey return to the vehicle and he was arrested. Lindsey admitted to driving the vehicle and Keen admitted to riding with Lindsey.Â Post arrest, Officer Megna discovered seven (7) crack rocks concealed in a medicine bottle in Lindseyâ€™s pocket and two additional rocks in passenger floor area of the vehicle.Â Keen admitted to being the only passenger in the vehicle and marijuana was found in his pocket.Â Both were arrested without incident.
Hakim J. Lindsey, B/M, 17 yoa.Â Charges:Â Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Cocaine, and Driving without a driver license.
Justin M. Keen, W/M, 18 yoa.Â Charges:Â Trespass in a Conveyance (vehicle), Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Cannabis less than 20g
