It’s Good to be Number 1 at Something
We’re not the smartest state in the nation. That honor goes to the Peoples Republic of Vermont. Flori-duh ranks 29th. Nothing to be proud of there. We rate in the bottom quintile for economic growth. Utah was number one for that. We rate 34th in child safety (once again, Vermont get’s the number 1 rank).
It turns out that Florida didn’t come in at the top of too many lists until this week, when in a story in the New York Times Week in Review, it was reported that Florida is number 1, that’s right, the top dog, in governmental corruption. Actually, the metric is “total number of government officials indicted”.
So my fellow Floridians, hold your head up high and walk proud. We’re number 1!
